#1 - Good Will Hunting

It took more than two years, but we've finally completed the Bad Choice Milk Top 25 Films of All-Time. Coming in at the top spot is none other than Good Will Hunting, the Original Screenplay that turned Matt Damon and Ben Affleck into bonafide movie stars and won an Academy Award for Robin Williams. Some of our readers might be surprised to see this type of movie atop a list of gangster films, war movies and violent thrillers. The fact is, Good Will Hunting is an amazing film that deals with a wide variety of topics from friendship to love to understanding of self. Damon plays the title character Will Hunting, who is an MIT Janitor with a photographic memory who enjoys anonymously solving impossible math theorems. Stellan Skarsgard (in an underrated role as the math professor) befriends the young man and begins to see him as his apprentice of sorts until he loses control of the relationship. The film begins to truly take off when the professor is forced to bring in his former college roommate -Robin Williams- to work with the Janitorial prodigy sparking an emotional connection in which Will has finally met his match. Robin Williams gives the performance of a lifetime as Hunting's counselor and the one person able to break down his emotional scar tissue.

Minnie Driver plays the lead female role as Will's love interest, Skylar. The relationship is still in infant stages and Will is completely unwilling to open up to her in any way shape or form from an emotional standpoint. His reluctance share any of his past mirrors his inability to embrace his opportunities for fear that his friendships will be lost. A relatively unknown (at the time) Ben Affleck plays Will's best friend Chuckie who at first seems to be an enabler, although we learn later on that he truly has his friends' best interests in his heart. Good Will Hunting is a modern masterpiece filled with outstanding dialogue and direction from Gus Van Sant who manages to portray a vast array of emotions through the character conversations. The film is packed with several laugh out loud moments that balance against the numerous poignant and passionate scenes that make this my favorite film of all-time. Here's the list in all it's entirety, hope you enjoyed the show...
