Menace II Society

Two Men. Both incredible athletes who spent a time during their prime years as undoubtedly the best performer in their respective sports. Two men who could handle seemingly anything on the gridiron or in the squared circle, but when faced with the everyday problems that life constantly throws at you, folded faster than Origami. With both of these high profile men back in the news this past week, I couldn't help but wonder which has been a bigger menace to society over the last twenty years or so.
While Iron Mike grew up a 'bad seed' and was generally seen as a threat by many the moment he hit the scene in the mid 1980's, O.J. was the complete opposite. After winning the Heisman and putting together one of the greatest careers a RB ever enjoyed in the NFL, Simpson went on to become a major face in Hollywood. He starred in several commercials, including the now infamous Hertz ads and also appeared in popular Naked Gun series which starred Leslie Nielson. Mike has had his own success on the small screen, although more for his bizarre activity than anything else.
In the end, women have proved to be both these great athletes Kryptonite. Tyson had Robin Givens. Simpson had Nicole Brown. Tyson allegedly raped a Black pageant contestant and did three years in federal correctional facilities. Simpson allegedly killed his ex-wife and her boyfriend Ron Goldman, but was found not guilty despite a boatload of incriminating evidence. Tyson returned from his prison stint and attempted to regain his Heavyweight crown only to fall flat on his face and eventually spiral into more drug fueled erratic behavior. Simpson recently took some time off from his desperate search for the 'real killer' in order to attempt to retain some of his former sports memorabilia. Either way, these two guys are the cream of the crop in the human gene pool and we should all be thankful to have lived in the same time period...
