Christopher Moltisanti - R.I.P.

Thanks to DVR I wasn't watching last night's Sopranos episode live. Thanks to DVR last night's Sopranos episode almost got ruined for me prior to ever watching it. At approximately 9:15 PM Eastern time, my cell phone was inundated with text messages of "Holy Sh*t!" & "I can't believe this!" I rushed home as soon as I could and my brother informed me that it was indeed one of the best episodes ever. I sat down to watch, not knowing that one of my favorite characters of any show ever was about to make his final appearance. My admiration for Christopher Moltisanti goes back to January, 1999 when the first episode aired. I always looked at it like having a favorite team and player. Sopranos was my favorite team and Chrissy was always my favorite player. His one liners, his drinking & drug problems and his desire to be accepted by Tony all made him the most interesting character in my estimation.
There had been rampant speculation about which main character would be next to tangle with death as the series finale looms closer each week. This week it was 'my boy' who had fallen off the wagon last week and subsequently crashed while driving Tony back from a meeting in NY with Phil Leotardo this week. With the SUV mangled and Tony climbing out of the vehicle, Christopher pleads with Tony to help him since he'll never pass a drug test. Instead Tony, angered by the sight of the destroyed baby seat, opts to end his nephew once and for all.

With only three episodes left, you can probably expect a Sopranos update every monday morning for the next month. I tell you this in warning so that I don't ruin anything for those of you who are waiting to watch the season on DVD or just don't catch the episodes when they air on Sunday nights...

An omission from the crash scene in Soprano's last night. I didn't see the air bag go off, did you? While it is possibile it did not get activated because it was not a front end collisison, Tony's face has all the earmarks of collding with it and one of the women later comments about Chris' injuries from the air bag.
Anyway, my point is, all late model GM vehicles have ONStar, how come OnStar did not activate and summon the police, instead Tony had to call 911, eventually.

wow...i hadn't even thought about that aspect of it...i was just in such awe at Tony's total dismissal of Christopher that I might not have noticied some other specifics...
